Terms
of use.
Rules for visitors, users and partners of the retro-service.eu portal.
Last updated: 2. 11. 2026
I. Introductory provisions
- Operator. The retro-service.eu portal (the “portal”) is operated by Jaromír Kapitán, a natural person. Contact: info@retro-service.eu.
- Purpose of the portal. The portal is a community platform for enthusiasts and owners of historic vehicles. It offers a vehicle catalogue with links to documentation, an events calendar and a directory of partners who provide services and help.
- Definitions.
- Visitor — anyone browsing the portal.
- User — a visitor with their own user account.
- Partner — a user who has created a partner profile.
- Acceptance of the terms. By using the portal, a visitor agrees to these terms.
- Personal data. The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy policy.
II. General rules
These apply to every visitor, user and partner.
- One account. Each person may have only one user account. Duplicate and fictitious accounts are prohibited. One account may have at most one partner profile.
- Prohibited content. It is prohibited to post content that breaches the laws of the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic or the European Union or the rights of third parties (in particular copyright), that is vulgar, offensive or misleading, or that promotes unfair practices.
- Responsibility for posted content. Whoever posts texts, a logo or other content, whether a user or a partner, is responsible for it. By posting it, they grant the operator a free, non-exclusive right to display the content on the portal for as long as it is published.
- Links to other websites. The portal links to third-party websites — documentation, forums, shops, clubs and partners’ websites. The operator is not responsible for their content or availability. The availability of links is checked automatically on a regular basis.
- Event information. The calendar takes information about events from their organisers and from publicly available sources. The organiser alone is responsible for whether an event takes place and for its date, course and safety. The operator is not responsible for any change to or cancellation of an event; please check the details with the organiser before travelling.
- Availability of the portal. The portal is provided free of charge and without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. The operator announces planned maintenance on the portal in advance.
III. User account
- Registration. An account is created by entering a name, an email address and a password, and is activated by verifying the email address. The account gives access to the client zone (the Garage), shows partners who have made their details visible to signed-in users only, and allows a partner profile to be created.
- Free of charge. The user account is free of charge.
- Login details. Users protect their password and are responsible for any activity carried out under their account. If they suspect their account has been misused, they change their password without delay and notify the operator.
- Contact with partners. Users behave courteously towards partners and other users. They must not use partners’ contact details for unsolicited advertising or collect them in bulk.
- Closing the account. Users can ask to close their account at any time by writing to info@retro-service.eu; we close it within one month. Closing the account also removes the user’s partner profile.
IV. Partner profile
-
Creation. A partner profile can only be created from an existing user account in the Garage and is always tied to that account.
-
Who can be a partner. A partner may be a company, a sole trader or a private individual without a business licence (a home mechanic, an enthusiast) who helps out in their free time, as a hobby, or as a favour to neighbours or friends. Anyone who provides services for payment is solely responsible for meeting the legal obligations that this entails.
-
Accurate details. Partners provide accurate and up-to-date details, including their availability.
-
What is published. The following partner details are published: name, description, logo, photos, services and vehicle makes offered, address (street, postcode, city, country), telephone, email, website, social media links and availability. Billing and tax details are not published. The operator may also publish the partner’s name, focus and logo on the portal’s Facebook page to introduce the partner. Partners acknowledge that if, as private individuals, they give their name and contact details, they are publishing their personal data.
-
Visibility. In the Garage, partners decide who can see their profile:
- everyone — visitors and search engines,
- signed-in users only,
- no one — the profile is hidden.
They also decide whether they are available for enquiries and from when. While they are not available, their contact details are not shown.
-
Deleting the partner profile. Partners can hide or delete their profile at any time without closing their user account. Deleting the profile erases the partner’s details, and the profile cannot be restored.
V. Services and help
- Listing services. Partners choose their services from a list of categories. If a service is not on the list, they can add their own.
- Putting people in touch. The portal only puts an interested party and a partner in touch without obligation. The operator does not verify partners’ professional competence and is not responsible for the quality, warranties or delivery of a service or help, or for any damage arising from it.
- Contractual relationship. The price, date, scope and any complaint are solely a matter between the partner and the interested party.
VI. Cookies
- The portal uses cookies that are necessary for it to work (sign-in, language). It stores statistical cookies for measuring traffic only with the visitor’s consent; without consent, traffic is measured without cookies. Visitors can change their consent at any time with the Cookie settings button in the portal footer.
VII. Final provisions
- Action by the operator. The operator may edit, hide or remove content that breaches these terms, the law or good morals. The operator may block a partner profile or a user account, stating the reason:
- a blocked partner profile is not shown on the website; the partner may delete it but cannot create a new one until the operator lifts the block,
- a blocked user cannot access the Garage, and their partner profile is not shown on the website.
- Reporting content. Please report content that you believe breaches the law or these terms to info@retro-service.eu, stating the link and the reason. The operator will assess the report without undue delay.
- Changes to the terms. The operator may make reasonable changes to these terms. The terms show the date of their last update. The operator informs users of material changes in advance on the portal or by email. A user who does not agree with a change may close their account.
- Language versions. The terms are available in Slovak, Czech and English. In the event of any conflict, the Slovak version prevails.
- Governing law. Matters not covered by these terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic.
